Josef Eichler (born November 7, 1987 ) is a German basketball player . He has been under contract with White Wings Hanau since 2014 .

career

Eichler started playing basketball at the age of 15 in the youth department of FC Bayern Munich . His youth coach was his brother Georg . Under his leadership the FCB became German U18 runner-up, Josef was the team's best point collector. In 2006 he won the championship title in the first Regionalliga Süd-Ost with Bayern's men's team, again his brother was the coach.

After two years with the regional league team HSB Landsberg, where Eichler immediately stood out as a top performer, in 2008 he accepted the offer from Bundesliga promoted Giants Nördlingen , for whom he played 18 BBL games in 2008/09, and stayed after being relegated from the basketball team. Bundesliga another year in Nördlingen.

In the 2010/11 season Eichler played at Science City Jena in the 2nd Bundesliga ProA , temporarily again under his brother Georg as head coach. In 2011 he returned to Nördlingen, the team has meanwhile started in the 2nd Bundesliga ProB .

In 2014 Eichler moved from Nördlingen to another ProB club, the White Wings Hanau , which received a license for the ProA in 2015. He averaged 5.6 points per game in the 2018/19 season, but was relegated with Hanau from the 2nd Bundesliga ProA.
