Josef Geyling

Josef Geyling (born December 10, 1799 in Vienna , † June 15, 1885 in Hütteldorf near Vienna) was an Austrian painter .
biography
Josef Geyling was the son of the court decoration painter Andreas Geyling (1763-1819). His younger brother was the painter Carl Geyling .
Josef Geyling painted and restored numerous ecclesiastical and secular buildings. His works included the ceiling paintings in the Redoutensaal in the Hofburg, which he painted in 1840, the Church of St. Johann Nepomuk in Vienna's 2nd district Leopoldstadt and works in the Schönbrunn , Laxenburg and Eisgrub palaces .
He was also responsible for the restoration of the Swiss Gate in the Hofburg . He also painted portraits.
Geyling received the title of court carpenter for his services .
