Josef Golling

Josef Golling (born March 13, 1848 in Linz , † March 30, 1916 in Vienna ) was an Austrian pedagogue and classical philologist .

Golling passed his state examination as a teacher around 1874, then was a teacher at the kk Obergymnasium Wiener Neustadt, at the German grammar school in Olmütz and from 1883 at the grammar school of IX. District in Vienna (then Maximilian-Gymnasium, today Gymnasium Wasagasse), where he still taught German and Latin in 1904 (as a professor).

He published mainly on Latin grammar. He also wrote school books (including on Titus Livius , Ovid , Virgil , Cornelius Nepos , Curtius Rufus ).
