Josef Heinzl
Josef Heinzl (born February 9, 1869 in Pottendorf , † October 11, 1923 in Vienna ) was an Austrian social democratic trade unionist and politician.
Josef Heinzl was a worker. He was initially employed in the Pottendorf spinning factory, then became a locksmith and machine fitter and through this activity he got around in large parts of the monarchy. Heinzl got involved in the trade union movement and became a functionary of the metal workers' association. After the First World War he was foreman of the consumer cooperative Vienna and the surrounding area and from 1919 to 1921 a member of the Lower Austrian Parliament .
He was buried in the arcade courtyard of the Simmering fire hall .
In 1928 Josef-Heinzl-Gasse in Vienna- Hietzing was named after him.
