Josef Ippers
Josef Ippers ( pseudonym Hubert Joti ; born May 1, 1932 in Neuss ; † July 12, 1989 ibid) was a German writer .
Life
Due to the Second World War , Josef Ippers only attended elementary school for four years . During his youth he made several attempts to escape from his home environment; he was repeatedly sent to juvenile prisons . After completing an apprenticeship as a typesetter , he carried out various activities: he went to sea, worked as a commercial clerk for shipping companies and freight forwarders , as an insurance inspector and porter . Since 1979 he has lived as a freelance writer in Neuss .
Josef Ippers' literary work includes novels , short stories , books for young people , reports and television scripts . His narrative works are in the tradition of Jack London and B. Traven and often describe the fate of members of social marginalized groups and the conflict between the longing for freedom and security.
Josef Ippers had been a member of the Association of German Writers since 1971 , of the working group "Literature of the Working World" and of the writers' association Die Kogge since 1972 . In addition to various scholarships , he received the Dormagener Federkiel in 1979 and in 1981 the prize of the Federal Working Group “Help for the Disabled” . In 1981/82 he stayed for a year at the Künstlerhof Schreyahn .
Hermann Spix published a biography about Josef Ippers in 2012: "I want to slip into many lives - getting closer to the writer Josef Ippers"
