Josef Körösi
Josef Körösi (born June 16, 1811 in Szeged ; † January 31, 1868 in Graz ) was an Austro-Hungarian industrialist .
Körösi began as an apprentice in a hardware store in his home country and at the age of 36 he moved to the Styrian capital Graz , where he founded the Andritzer machine factory in 1852 with its own iron foundry, "bridge building company" and boiler forge.
Andritzer Maschinenfabrik - today Andritz AG - is one of the oldest still existing companies in Austria and has long been the most important employer in the Graz area.
The Körösistraße and the school located there in Graz are named after him.
