Josef Kamenitzky Steiner (born November 11, 1910 in Vienna , Austria ; † September 8, 1981 there ) was an Austrian painter .

Life

He first studied in Brno with Karl Truppe , then at the Academy in Prague with Heinrich Hönich and Vratislav Nechleba . After completing his studies, he returned to Brno, where he worked as a freelance artist. In addition to occasional commissioned work as a portraitist, he soon specialized in painting still life with flowers in the tradition of the Austrian still life painters Franz Werner Tamm , Moritz Daffinger and Franz Xaver Petter . Around 1960 he moved to Vienna, where he lived and worked until his death in 1981.
