Josef Klucky

Josef Klucky (born September 10, 1806 in Mährisch-Weißkirchen ; † February 12, 1878 in Vienna ) was an Austrian doctor and councilor in Vienna.

Klucký began his medical studies in Pavia and was on August 6, 1829 at the Medical Faculty of the University of Vienna Dr. med. PhD. He worked as Jacquin's assistant at the Botanical Chair in Vienna.

In the course of the Viennese revolution of 1848 Klucky was elected President of the Board of Directors of the National Guard in July 1848 and did a great job for the city of Vienna during the revolution . The medic worked on the editorial committee of the "Zeitung für die Wiener Nationalgarde", which appeared until October 1848. Klucky was sent by the Conservative Party to the local council, of which he was a member from 1848 to 1878. Kluckygasse in Vienna has been named after him since 1885. He is also an honorary citizen of Vienna .
