Josef Kolmhofer (born November 9, 1934 in Salzburg ) is an Austrian lawyer , commercial councilor and former general director of HYPO Upper Austria .

Life

Kolmhofer studied law in Innsbruck and Salzburg up to his doctorate and already worked at HYPO Salzburg during his studies. From 1972 until his retirement in 1997 he held the position of general director.

Kolmhofer is married, has four daughters and has lived in Hartkirchen since 1979 .

Church engagement

Both during his active time - as well as in his "retirement" - he put his experience at the service of church institutions. If pastoral tasks require economic expertise, he is always available with his specialist knowledge as a volunteer advisor. In his parish he was for many years administrator of the parish kindergarten and chairman of the finance committee of the parish council.

However, his commitment extends far beyond supporting the local church. Since 1982 he has been chairman of the Catholic Press Association of the Diocese of Linz , founded by Bishop Rudigier to promote church press work. From 1986 to 2005 he was Vice President of the Mission Transport Working Group (MIVA). He is currently still active as a diocesan representative on the MIVA Board of Trustees.

In recent years, Josef Kolmhofer has developed a special relationship with the Catholic-Theological Private University in Linz . He has supported them since the establishment of the "Episcopal Fund for the Promotion of the KTU" in 1991, was a member of the Administrative Advisory Board and headed it as its chairman from 2000 to 2010.
