Josef Lechnir

Josef Lechnir (born October 29, 1897 in Berchtesgaden , † June 15, 1982 in Bremerhaven ) was a German diver and urologist .

Life

During his studies, Josef Lechnir became a member of the Landsmannschaft Franconia Leipzig , after having been a member of the Landsmannschaft Hasso-Guestfalia in Marburg for a short time .

He started for the Stillinge Dessau and in 1923, 1924 and 1927 became German champion in jumping from the 3-meter board. At the European Swimming Championships in 1926 , he won silver behind Arthur Mund in the same discipline . After the end of his active career, he published several books on the subject of jumping.

After completing his urosurgery training in Dessau and Halle (Saale) , Dr. med. Lechnir from 1935 to 1949 chief physician at the surgical-urological department of the Deaconess Hospital Dessau . In 1950 he left Dessau and until 1964 was the chief doctor of a 30-bed department at the Lehe Hospital in Bremerhaven . Lechnir was a member of the German Society for Urology . He came up with the idea of ​​the accordion-like plastic bottles for instillation .

Josef Lechnir was married to Dagmar Karla Odwiga von Natzmer (1910–1986), a descendant of Klaus Ludwig von Natzmer. He died in 1982 at the age of 84 and was buried in the Bremerhaven cemetery in Wulsdorf .
