Josef Loos (politician)

Josef Loos (born May 13, 1954 in Illmitz ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and civil servant. From 2000 to 2015 he was a member of the Burgenland Landtag .

education and profession

Loos attended primary school in Illmitz and secondary school in Neusiedl am See . He then graduated from the commercial school in Bruck an der Leitha from 1968 to 1971 . Loos worked from 1971 to 1974 as a bank clerk in Bruck and from 1973 to 1974 did military service. In 1974 he joined the state service (biological station). From 1998 to 2000 he was on the board of the WLV Northern Burgenland.

politics

From 1982 to 1992 Loos was the SPÖ municipal board in Illmitz and between 1992 and 1997 he held the office of vice mayor. In 1997 he was elected mayor of the municipality. Within the party, Loos was local party chairman of the SPÖ from 1992 to 1997 and was elected a member of the SPÖ district and state party executive in 1982. He was also a member and until 2000 chairman of the state party control. Loos is a founding member and board member of the ARBÖ and the Friends of Nature and has been a member of the National Park Board since 1994 .

Loos has represented the SPÖ in the state parliament since December 28, 2000 and was the area spokesman for the SPÖ state parliament club for the agendas of tourism, nature conservation, and agriculture and forestry.

Loos is married.
