Josef Luhamer

Josef Luhamer (born September 12, 1912 in Sierning ; † August 24, 1991 there ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and farmer. From 1962 to 1966 he was a member of the Austrian National Council .

Live and act

Luhamer attended elementary and community school in Sierning, then graduated from the agricultural school in Schlierbach and became a farmer. From 1940 to 1945 he was a member of the NSDAP . In 1945 he was a co-founder of the Sierning Farmers' Union and from 1949 a committee member of the Steyr District Chamber of Farmers. From 1950 he also worked as chairman of the Steyr district chamber of farmers, from 1951 he was deputy chairman of the Sierninghofen dairy cooperative and from 1955 chairman of the ÖVP Sierning. In addition, he was involved as district chairman of the Upper Austrian Farmers' Association and from 1960 was a member of the supervisory board of the Linz dairy farm. In local politics, Luhamer was active as Vice Mayor of Sierning from 1955, and he also represented the ÖVP in the National Council from December 14, 1962 to March 30, 1966.
