Josef Odenwald

Josef Odenwald (born September 18, 1758 ; † June 23, 1816 in Rastatt ; Catholic) was a lawyer and official in the Baden state service since 1784 , comparable to today's district administrator .

Life

Josef Odenwald was the son of the court controller Johann Odenwald. After studying law from 1779 to 1782 at the University of Freiburg , he became a legal intern and from 1784 an assessor at the Karlsruhe Oberamt . From January 20, 1791 he was Hofratsassessor at the Hofratskollegium in Karlsruhe and on January 16, 1794 was appointed Princely Councilor. From 9 February 1795 he was bailiff at the District Ettlingen and on 23 July 1803 Oberamts acting head named there. On March 23, 1808, he was promoted to Obervogt, that is, he became the head of the Ettlingen Office . On August 8, 1814, he was appointed Privy Councilor, 3rd class, and on October 26, 1815, he was transferred to the Rastatt District Office. On April 30, 1816, he was retired for health reasons.
