Josef Rüber

Johann Joseph "Josef" Rüber (born April 25, 1917 in Ochtendung , † February 23, 1977 in Koblenz ) was a German farmer and politician ( CDU ). From 1967 to 1971 he was a member of the state parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate .

Life

Rüber attended the grammar school in Boppard from 1928 to 1934 and then the secondary school in Ahrweiler . After graduating from high school in 1937, he began studying veterinary medicine at the University of Giessen , which he had to interrupt in 1939 when he was drafted into the Wehrmacht . With an interruption from 1942 to 1943, when he was assigned to the Army Veterinary Academy to complete his studies, he took part in World War II as a soldier . Most recently he was taken prisoner by the British, from which he was released in June 1945. Shortly afterwards he took over the management of his parents' farm.

Rüber joined the CDU in 1954. He was chairman of the local association of the CDU Ochtentung and chairman of the party in the Polch office. He was also a member of the council of Ochtendung and chairman of the CDU parliamentary group.

In the state elections in 1967 he was elected as a member of the state parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate, to which he was a member until 1971. In parliament he was a member of the Committee on Agriculture and Viticulture.
