Josef Schmucker

Josef Schmucker (born May 24, 1882 in Oggelshausen , Oberamt Saulgau ; † August 27, 1971 in Ulm ) was a German agricultural officer.

Life

Schmucker gained practical professional experience on various farms and domains in the Swabian Oberland. He then studied at the Hohenheim Agricultural University , from which he graduated with a diploma. In Halle (Saale) he passed the animal welfare manager exam.

He got his first job in Friedrichswerth, Thuringia, on a 6000 acre domain. Then he was administrator at the Red Cross farm near Würzburg and animal welfare manager in Sigmaringen . In 1918 he came to Ulm as head of the animal welfare office. He remained in this position until he retired in 1951.

At the same time, Schmucker was managing director of the Association of Upper Swabian Simmental Breeding Associations. After the Second World War , he made particular contributions to the rebuilding of the breeding stock of the Württemberg cattle breeding.
