Josef Seemann (born February 3, 1928 ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

Beginning

At the age of 22, Seemann belonged to FC Bayern Munich , for which he played for the first time in the Oberliga Süd , the top German division at the time, from the 1950/51 season . With 15 goals in 27 of 34 league games, he achieved a remarkable rate and was Bavaria 's top scorer. So in the following season with 12 goals in 20 of 30 league games - before Helmut Bauer with eleven goals, who played seven more games. His debut for Bayern was successful with the 4-1 win in the away game against BC Augsburg on August 20, 1950 (1st matchday) and his first goal, the 2-0 goal in the 41st minute. For the 1955/56 season he moved to the league competitor and reigning German champion Rot-Weiss Essen . In the second leg of the first round of the newly created European Champion Clubs' Cup , he was used on October 12, 1955 in a 1-1 draw against Scottish representatives Hibernian Edinburgh over 90 minutes.
