The Puss in Boots - Adventure in San Lorenzo (Original title: The Adventures of Puss in Boots ) is an American computer-animated comedy series based on the prehistory of the Puss in Boots , who first appeared in the Shrek film series and then got its own film in 2011 . The first episodes were released on Netflix in the United States on January 16, 2015 . In Germany, the series premiered on September 18, 2015 on Super RTL . The series ended with the sixth season, which was released in the US on January 26, 2018.

Puss in Boots ends up in the hidden city of San Lorenzo. He learns from the young cat Dulcinea that the city is surrounded by a protective screen from her large gold treasure so that no one can see the city. When the tomcat removes a gold coin from the treasury as a souvenir, he inadvertently breaks the spell and opens the gates for thieves who are after the treasure. He decides to defend the city until the spell can be renewed.

- Puss in Boots: He describes himself as a hero, adventurer and hiker. However, he needs to realize that he is not perfect as he can be quite arrogant. However, the cat gives everything for his friends.
- Dulcinea: This young cat works in the San Lorenzo orphanage. She is always in a good mood and lives according to the “funny book of wisdom” that she always carries with her.
- Artephius: He is an alchemist and often seems a little unworldly. He likes to make macrame owls.
- Toby: This pig is one of the orphans and is quite a fan of the hangover. But with his admiration he drives him pretty crazy.
- Gurkino: This orphan boy is totally fascinated by cucumbers.
- Vina: This girl, who also lives in the orphanage, has a bored voice and a habit of passing on unnecessary information. In the first episode, she confesses to the cat that she is in love with Toby.
- Esmer: This girl is one of the youngest children in the orphanage. She especially loves the hangover.
- Krübel: She is a goblin girl and was used by the evil duchess to fool the cat. However, through his trust, she really becomes a friend.
- Mayor Temoroso: The mayor of San Lorenzo is dutiful, but quite a coward. As soon as danger threatens, he hides in a barrel.
- The Duchess: She is an evil alchemist and an old enemy of Puss in Boots. She always accuses him of losing a leg because of him, although she always accidentally shows the healthy leg. She also had a relationship with Artephius once.
- The Sphinx: Originally, this mystical being guarded a magical hourglass, but she was getting bored of this job. Now she is guarding San Lorenzo.

criticism
The AV Club website listed the series in their list of Most Unnecessary TV Shows of 2015. Puss in Boots is said to be an obvious copy of the Kung Fu Panda animated series that lacks the energy of the original film. The main character's lack of humor and the pale secondary characters are particularly criticized.
