Josef Sehn

Josef Sehn (born January 14, 1909 in Schnorbach ; † December 3, 1995 there ) was a German farmer and politician ( CDU ). From 1967 to 1975 he was a member of the state parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate .

Life

Sehn went to primary school in Simmern from 1915 to 1923 and then received an agricultural education. He attended the Simmern agricultural school and completed the practical part of his training in his parents' farm, which he then managed. From May to his resignation in August 1938 he was a candidate for the SA and from 1938 to 1939 a member of the National Socialist German Student Union (NSDStB). From 1940 he took part as a soldier in World War II , from which he returned home in 1943 as a severely disabled person.

Sehn was politically active in the CDU after 1945. From 1946 to 1948 he was mayor of Schnorbach, from 1952 a member of the district council and from 1960 to 1970 a member of the district committee in the district of Simmern . In the state elections in 1967 and 1971 he was elected to the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament, to which he belonged until 1975. In parliament he was from 1967 to 1975 a member of the Petitions Committee and from 1971 to 1975 a member of the Committee on Agriculture and Viticulture.

In addition, he held various functions in agricultural associations. From 1948 to 1970 he was deputy chairman of the Simmern district farmers' association, from 1949 a member of the Rhineland-Nassau Chamber of Agriculture and was a member of the social committee of the Rhineland-Nassau farmers and winemakers. He was also chairman of the pig breeders' association and member of the animal breeding committee in Rhineland-Nassau. In 1967 he became a member of the supervisory board of Landsiedlung Rheinland-Pfalz GmbH. Furthermore, from 1959, Sehn was a lay judge at the local and regional court and a member of the representative assembly and the ruling office of the AOK Simmern.
