Josef Somr
Josef Somr (born April 14, 1934 in Vracov , Czechoslovakia ) is a Czech actor .
Life
In 1956 Josef Somr finished his acting studies at the Janáček Academy for Music and Performing Arts in Brno . He then played for two years at the theater in Český Těšín , three years at the Brno City Theater , four years at the theater in Pardubice (1961–1965) and from 1965 in the Činoherní klub and since 1978 in the Národní divadlo . Somr made his screen debut in 1965, directed by Ján Kadár and Elmar Klos , The Defendant alongside Vlado Müller and Jaroslav Blazek . From 1982 to 2004 Somr played Prof. Ječmen in five literary adaptations of Ladislav Pecháček's character, Štepán Šafránek . Four of these films How the World Comes for Their Poets (1982), How Poets Lose Their Illusion (1985), How Poets Enjoy Life (1988) and The End of Poets in Böhmen (1993) have so far been dubbed and published in German.
