Josef Vinzl

Josef Karl Vinzl (born October 20, 1867 in Vienna , † May 10, 1947 ibid) was an Austrian businessman , economic functionary and politician of the National Economic Bloc (NWB) and later without a club membership .

Life

Josef Vinzl was the son of the wholesale merchant of the same name and director of the First Austrian Spar-Casse . He graduated from the commercial academy and served as a one-year volunteer in 1888/89 .

He then joined the groceries - and Kolonialwarenhandlung one of his father. In 1892 he became an authorized signatory of the Vienna headquarters and the newly established Trieste branch. Vinzl took on numerous functions in Viennese economic life. In 1903 he became a member of the Viennese merchants, president of the board of directors in 1908 and later vice-president. In 1908 Vinzl also became a member of the Chamber of Commerce and exchange censor of the First Austrian Spar-Casse . In 1909 he became a functionary at the Lower Austrian Escompte-Gesellschaft and managing director of the United Wiener Kaffeerösterei Ges.mbH. He resigned from this position for health reasons in 1941, but remained a member of the board. In 1926 Vinzl became President of the Main Association of Austrian Merchants. After the merger of Credit-Anstalt with Boden-Credit to form Boden-Credit-Anstalt, Vinzl sat on the bank's board of directors from 1929 to 1931.

From December 2, 1930 to February 27, 1934 Josef Vinzl was a member of the National Council ( fourth legislative period ) and represented the NWB there until January 26, 1933, after which he was not a member of a club. In August 1932 he resigned his mandate in the course of the voting on the Lausanne loan , but revoked his resignation, which led to a heated debate about this process and its legal consequences.

After his mandate expired in 1934, Vinzl held other positions at the stock exchange, at the Mercur Bank and Exchange Office and Agrumaria Import AG. He was appointed vice president of the University of World Trade and became a member of the board of directors of Wiener Messe .
