Josef Walter (politician, 1893)

Josef Walter (born January 13, 1893 in Obergeorgenthal ; † August 8, 1966 ) was a German politician ( GB / BHE , GDP ).

Walter grew up in the Sudetenland , where he attended the community school and later the business school. From 1920 he was involved in the union. From 1927 to 1933 he was a member of the Bodenbach city ​​council . On November 1, 1938 he became a member of the NSDAP ( membership number 6.814.192). From 1939 to 1945 he was in charge of the development department of the Sudeten German salaried health insurance fund.

After the war he settled in Hessen . There he was in 1948 Chairman of the Hessian State Association of Expellees (he stayed for 18 years in this function) and was next 1949-1958 Deputy Chairman of the Federation of German Expellees . In 1950 he was one of the first to sign the Charter of German Expellees .

From 1954 until his death, Walter was a member of the Hessian state parliament . He belonged to the parliamentary group of GB / BHE (1954–61) and the GDP group (1961–66). From December 1962 he was III. Vice President of the State Parliament.
