history

In the place of today's church there was a watchtower of the old castle. The church was built in 1685 using the remains of the tower.

architecture

A rectangular choir adjoins the three-bay nave with a slightly drawn-in front arch. The ridge above the choir wears an onion helmet. The nave shows a structure with pilasters on the outside, which was only painted on the choir and on the west facade. The west portal shows the year 1685.

The choir has a groin vault on double belts on double pilasters. The nave has a square vault on belts on sturdy pillars with pilasters in front. The two-bay west gallery has three axes. The painter Jakob Laub created frescoes on the legend of Joseph in the vault (1955–1960) and on the side walls (1981).

Furnishing

The altars were created in 1711 with the carpenter Georg Sauer, the frames were painted by Rosina Theresia Segmüller. The statues on the high altar of Saints Joachim, Anna, John the Baptist and Elisabeth were created by Johann Baptist Stütz. The high altar picture St. Joseph is dated 1685. The pulpit is from the first third of the 18th century. The statue of St. Anthony is from the first quarter of the 18th century. Andreas de Prettis mentions a votive picture in 1743.

The organ was built by Friedrich Werner in 1868.

Rosary Path

Baroque Passion figures from the first half of the 18th century stand on the Rosenkranzweg from the village to the church. The figures show Christ on the Mount of Olives , Christ on the scourge column , Christ seated , Christ carrying the cross and the Sorrowful Mother of God . The Passionsweg ends with a group of crosses from the 19th century before the church closes.
