Josefovice (German Josefsdorf ) is a district of Klimkovice (German Königsberg in Schlesien ) in Moravian-Silesia ( Czech Republic ).
Josefovice is located southwest of Ostrava (German Mährisch Ostrau ).
history
Josefsdorf was founded between 1773 and 1777 and around 1804 had around 200 residents, mostly Roman Catholic, Lachish- speaking Czech dialect , who lived in around 30 houses.
Even around 1910, only 6% of the population spoke German as a colloquial language.
In 1991 the place had 262 inhabitants. In 2001 the village consisted of 80 houses in which 278 people lived.
