Joseph Angerer
Joseph Angerer (* 1735 in Saalfelden ; † 1779 ) was a Rococo sculptor from Salzburg .
Numerous church furnishings in Upper Bavaria were made by Angerer . Three of his works are still preserved today:
- a side altar of the St. Jakobuskirche in Rohrdorf, created in 1772
- a side altar in St. George's Church in Oberding with the statues of Saints Johannes Baptist , Sebastian , Peter and Paul as well as four tabernacle angels from 1776
- four figures from two side altars in the monastery church of St. Peter and Paul von Neustift from 1778
Angerer married Theresia Salier in Freising in 1775 . He died four years later at the age of 44. A street in Freising is named after him .
