Joseph Baffoe (born November 7, 1992 in Accra , Ghana ) is a Swedish football player . In summer 2015 he became European champion with the Swedish U21 national team .
Career
In the club
Baffoe played in his youth for the then Swedish third division club IFK Värnamo , which he left after his first professional year in 2009. He moved to Helsingborgs IF , but was loaned straight back to Värnamo. After another year in Värnamo, he returned to Helsingborgs IF, with whom he won the Swedish Championship and the Swedish Cup in 2011 . Helsingborgs IF won the Swedish Supercup at the beginning of the 2012 season and was fifth in the league at the end of the season. He participated with Helsingborgs IF in 2012 in the group stage of the Europa League , in which he played three games.
Halfway through the 2013 season, Baffoe was awarded to the Norwegian first division club Vålerenga Oslo . At the end of the season he was sold to Halmstads BK . There he played in the Allsvenskan for a year and a half . After this time he moved to the second division club Eintracht Braunschweig in Germany during the summer break, which is in the middle of the season in Sweden .
After the Lower Saxony was relegated to the 3rd division, these Baffoes no longer extended their contract. After several months of being without a club, the Swede signed a contract with the second division club MSV Duisburg in January 2019, which was no longer extended after the MSV had also been relegated.
On March 4, 2020, Joseph Baffoe returned to Sweden and signed a contract with his former club Halmstads BK .
National team
Baffoe has played in the Swedish U17 , U19 and U21 so far . He won the European Championship with the U21 in summer 2015 . At the tournament in the Czech Republic he came to four missions.
