Joseph Charles Bambera (born March 21, 1956 in Carbondale ) is Bishop of Scranton .

Life

The retired Bishop of Scranton, Joseph Carroll McCormick , ordained him on May 14, 1983 deacon and the bishop of Scranton, John Joseph O'Connor , ordained him on November 5, 1983 priests .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him Bishop of Scranton on February 23, 2010 . He was ordained episcopal by the Archbishop of Philadelphia , Justin Francis Cardinal Rigali , on April 26th of the same year; Co-consecrators were James Clifford Timlin , Old Bishop of Scranton, and John Martin Dougherty , Auxiliary Bishop Emeritus in Scranton.
