Joseph Basmadjan

Joseph Basmadjan (born July 15, 1920 in Aleppo , Syria , † December 11, 1988 in Aleppo) was an Armenian Catholic Archbishop of Aleppo .

Life

Joseph Basmadjan was ordained a priest on December 25, 1945 and was appointed Archbishop of Aleppo on July 4, 1984. The Patriarch of Cilicia Archbishop Johannes Bedros XVIII. Kasparian ICPB donated him episcopal ordination on September 23, 1984 , assisted by the co- consecrators Grégoire Ghabroyan ICPB, Apostolic Exarch of France , André Bedoglouyan ICPB, auxiliary bishop in Cilicia , and Krikor Ayvazian , bishop of Kamichlié .
