Joseph "Joe" Buck (born April 26, 1981 ) is a former American - German basketball player . The 2.02 meter tall indoor player played 34 games for the Giants Düsseldorf in the basketball league .

career

Buck's maternal grandparents emigrated from Germany to the United States in the mid-1950s ; his mother Evelyn was born in Flensburg . He grew up in Redondo Beach , California , and attended the local high school, where he was a member of the basketball team. Between 2001 and 2004 Buck played at the University of Southern California (first division of the NCAA ).

Between 2004 and 2009 Buck played for various teams in the lower class US leagues ABA, IBL, CBA and PBL. In December 2009 he moved to his mother's country of birth, Buck was signed by SC Rasta Vechta from the 2nd Bundesliga ProB . He immediately attracted attention in Lower Saxony with good performances, averaged 17.6 points and 8.6 rebounds in 17 games up to the end of the 2009/10 season and was named the best ProB newcomer of the year by the internet basketball service eurobasket.com .

For the 2010/11 season Buck moved to the Giants Düsseldorf in the basketball league . He wore the shirt of the Rhinelander in 34 BBL games and achieved averages of 3.6 points and 2.8 rebounds per encounter. Between 2011 and 2013 he was under contract with the Crailsheim Merlins in the 2nd Bundesliga ProA . Following the 2011/12 season, he was named the best German ProA player of the year by eurobasket.com . At the end of his basketball career, Buck played for BBC Magdeburg in the 2nd Bundesliga ProB in 2014/15 .

In 2015 he returned to the USA and worked for a real estate company in California.
