Joseph James Potocnak SCI (born May 13, 1933 in Berwick ) is former bishop of De Aar .

Life

Joseph James Potocnak joined the Congregation of Dehonians at and received on 21 September 1966, the priestly ordination . John Paul II appointed him Bishop of De Aar on January 23, 1992.

The Archbishop of Cape Town , Lawrence Patrick Henry , donated him episcopal ordination on May 1 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Everardus Antonius M. Baaij SCI, Bishop Emeritus of Aliwal , Joseph Anthony De Palma SCI, Bishop Emeritus of De Aar, and Fritz Lobinger , Bishop of Aliwal .

On July 17, 2009, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related retirement.
