Joseph Orange
Joseph "Joe" Orange (born November 11, 1941 in New York City ) is an American jazz trombonist .
Joseph Orange is the nephew of swing trombonist JC Higginbotham . His cousin was the songwriter Irene Higginbotham , who u. a wrote the song "Good Morning Heartache" for Billie Holiday . Orange began his musical career in 1960 with Marshall Brown's Newport Youth Band and participated in festivals in Newport and Pittsburgh . He then played with Eddie Palmieri , Lloyd Price (1963) and Lionel Hampton (1964). Most of all, Orange will be remembered for his contribution to Archie Shepp's free jazz album Fire Music , which was released in 1965 for Impulse! has been recorded. In 1965/66 he played in Herbie Mann's band and was featured on his album “Today!”. Then the trombonist disappeared from the jazz scene and worked in insurance. Later he did ethnomusical studies and worked as a music teacher.
