Joseph Quy Lam Cong (born April 25, 1975 in Biên Hòa , Đồng Nai Province , Vietnam ) is a Roman Catholic theologian . From 2005 to 2006 he was Professor and Secretary General at the Institutum Patristicum Augustinianum

Life

Lam Cong was born in 1975 in Biên Hòa near Ho Chi Minh City , in 1982 he moved with his parents to Zeil am Main in Germany. After graduating from high school in 1992, Lam Cong entered the seminary in Würzburg . He studied theology and philosophy in Würzburg and Rome. Lam Cong became a member of the Catholic student association KDSt.V. in 1996 . Thuringia Würzburg in the CV . In 1999 he joined the Augustinian Order (Ordo Sancti Augustini OSA) in the Germershausen Monastery ; In 2000 he made his first profession . From 2000 to 2002 he studied theology with a focus on patrology at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven . In 2005 he was Ibid with a thesis on humanity of Jesus Christ in the works of Augustine of Hippo to Dr. theol. PhD .

In 2005 he received a call to the professorship for Augustinian Studies at Institutum Patristicum Augustinianum the Pontifical Lateran University . From 2005 to 2006, Lam Cong was also General Secretary and General Procurator of the Institutum Patristicum Augustinianum . Since February 2006 he has been director of the media secretariat in the General Curia of the Augustinian Order in Rome.

On March 3, 2006, he was ordained deacon from Cardinal Walter Kasper in Rome , and on September 16, 2006, he was ordained a priest from Former Bishop Paul-Werner Scheele in the Augustinian Church in Würzburg .

Lam Cong has written numerous scientific works on Augustinian topics. Among other things, he wrote the lemmas hodie , Iesus and incarnatio for the Augustine Lexicon . He is also the author of comparative studies on Augustinus and Friedrich Schleiermacher , Augustinus and Immanuel Kant , Augustinus and Karl Rahner and other scientific reviews such as Die Menschheit Jesu Christi and the Divine Show in Augustin's work "De trinitate" , in Augustiniana 54 (2004) page 417 –430, and The Influence of Augustine on the Theology of Pope Benedict XVI , in Augustiniana 56 (2006) pp. 411–432.

Since autumn 2007, Joseph Lam Quy Cong in Erlenbach bei Marktheidenfeld in the pastoral care worked.
