Joseph Reindl (theologian, 1931)

Joseph Reindl (born May 2, 1931 in Dresden , † September 24, 1986 in Erfurt ) was a German Roman Catholic clergyman and Old Testament scholar .

Life

From 1953 Reindl studied theology at the Philosophical-Theological Studies in Erfurt (today the Catholic-Theological Faculty of the University of Erfurt ). On June 29, 1956, he received the sacrament of ordination through Bishop Otto Spülbeck in Bautzen Cathedral . This was followed by Kaplan years in Zwickau. With the dissertation , the face of God in the language of the Old Testament he received his doctorate in 1969 at Alfons Deissler to Dr. theol.

In 1974 he was appointed professor for exegesis of the Old Testament at the Philosophical-Theological Study in Erfurt , where he taught until his death.
