Jost Hennecke

Jodokus "Jost" Hennecke (born January 19, 1873 in Remblinghausen near Meschede , † April 22, 1940 ibid) was a German author.

Life

Jost Hennecke was born as the son of the couple Bergmann Jodokus Hennecke and Florentine, née Stappert, and baptized with the name Jodokus, whose short form is Jost. He attended elementary school in Remblinghausen. After the death of his father, he came to Meschede at the age of 14, where he works as a cow boy. Jodokus learned the shoemaker's trade from his uncle Stappert in Enkhausen near Meschede. After his apprenticeship years, he worked as a master craftsman for eight years. For health reasons, he had to give up this job. He became a stoker and guard in the miners' clinic in Beringhausen . In 1916 and 1917 he was a soldier and then became a factory worker in the shoe last factory of Julius Lex in Meschede. As a sexton and auxiliary organist, Jodokus worked part-time in the St. Jakobus Church in Remblinghausen. Jodokus died of pneumonia on April 22, 1940 in Remblinghausen, leaving behind a wife and six children.
