József Asbóth
József Asbóth [ ˈjoːʒɛf ˈɒʒboːt ] (born September 18, 1917 in Szombathely , † September 22, 1986 in Munich ) was a Hungarian tennis player .
Asbóth was the first Hungarian Grand Slam winner when he won the French tennis championships in Roland Garros in 1947 against the South African Eric Sturgess in three sets (8: 6, 7: 5, 6: 4).
Between 1938 and 1957 he played a total of 16 matches for the Hungarian Davis Cup team . He won 18 of his 30 singles and 6 of his 11 doubles games.
