Adam Friedrich Graf von Flemming (born March 18, 1687 in Dresden ; † October 24, 1744 at the Hermsdorf manor ) was an imperial count and royal Polish and electoral Saxon chamberlain to Augustus the Strong .

Life

Flemming was the son of Field Marshal Heino Heinrich von Flemming and Dorothea Elisabeth (née von Pfuel ), the brother of Lieutenant General and Chamberlain from Electoral Saxony, Johann Georg von Flemming , and thanks to his family he also had the privilege of Hereditary Marshal of Western Pomerania (since 1695).

Flemming had been married to Katharina von Ahlefeld (1690–1721) since 1708 and had two sons and seven daughters with her, including Eva Charlotta Dorothea (1714–1757), wife of Hans von Dieskau since 1739 .

After a fire in 1729, he had Hermsdorf Castle restored in the Baroque style, with George Bähr participating in the planning; he emphasized the central wing with a triangular gable into which oval windows are inserted and crowned the stair tower with a curly stone dome, reminiscent of the stair tower crowning of the Dresden Frauenkirche . Count Flemming also laid out a baroque garden with a canal.
