John Sherman "JuJu" Smith-Schuster (born November 22, 1996 in Long Beach , California ) is an American American football player on the position of wide receiver . He currently plays for the Pittsburgh Steelers in the National Football League (NFL).

Early years

Born John Smith attended high school in his hometown of Long Beach, California. Here he played as a wide receiver and as safety football. He later attended the University of Southern California . He had his second surname, Schuster , ascribed to him at the age of 18 in honor of his stepfather.

NFL

Smith-Schuster was selected 62nd in the second round in the 2017 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers . On May 17, 2017, he signed a four-year contract with the Steelers. In the first game of the season he was used as a kick returner . On September 17, 2017, in the 26: 9 win over the Minnesota Vikings , he managed his first pass catch and his first touchdown in the NFL. He is the youngest player since 1964 to ever catch a touchdown. He got a total of seven touchdowns in his first season in the NFL.

On October 29, 2017 he scored a 97- yard touchdown in the game against the Detroit Lions and on November 25, 2018 against the Denver Broncos .

On December 31, 2017, Smith-Schuster managed a kickoff-return touchdown against the Cleveland Browns .
