Juan Alberto Rodríguez Ibarra (born May 30, 1969 in Tepic ) is a Mexican beach volleyball player .

Career

Ibarra played his first international tournaments from 1994 to 1996 with changing partners. He achieved the best result at the first appearance as 18th of the Enoshima Open. In 1998 he formed a duo with Michael Garcia Jurado . Ibarra / Garcia reached 17th place in Marseille and 25th place in Ostend .

Ibarra played the last tournament of the year in Vitória with his new partner Joel Sotelo Villalobos . At the start of 1999, Sotelo / Ibarra finished seventh in front of their home crowd in Acapulco . In Toronto and Stavanger they came in 13th. They also took part in the 1999 World Cup in Marseille , where they finished 25th. Then they were again 13th in Tenerife and Ostend. They were able to repeat the result on the island in 2000. Before that, they reached 17th place in both Guarujá and Rosarito . In their first Grand Slam in Chicago they reached 25th place. In addition, Sotelo / Ibarra qualified for the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney . There they sat in the first game against the Australians Prosser / Zahner . In the round of 16 they had to admit defeat to the US duo Heidger / Wong without winning a point.

2001 Ibarra competed with Ivan Contreras . The best result of this duo was a 33rd place at the Berlin Open. Ibarra achieved the same result at the same tournament a year later with his new partner Juan Carlos Razo Guevara . The other tournaments in 2002 finished the two Mexicans in 41st place. In 2003 Ibarra and Tomas Hernandez Arreola finished 25th at the Gstaad Open. Ibarra / Hernandez also played the Grand Slams in Berlin and Marseille. In 2005 they had their last joint appearance in Acapulco.
