Juan Manuel Azuara González (born October 20, 1957 in Ciudad Valles , San Luis Postosí ) is a retired Mexican football player in the position of a striker .

Life

Azuara began his career at CF Monterrey and joined the UANL Tigres , the arch-rivals of Club Monterrey , via Atlético Potosino in 1978 . Azuara experienced his most successful years as a soccer player with the Tigres, where he also made the leap into the Mexican national soccer team . In the 1979/80 season he scored 24 goals for the Tigres and in the following 1980/81 season he was at least 14 times successful. In the 1981/82 season he scored only six goals, but celebrated the greatest success of his career by winning the Mexican football championship . The 1982/83 season he spent at Tampico-Madero FC and a year later he moved to Atlético Morelia , where he ended his active career.
