Juan Pallejá

Juan Pallejá Mañanet (* 1889 in Lleida , † 1971 in Barcelona ) was a Spanish film director and film editor .

Pallejá studied at the University of Fine Arts in Barcelona and made his film debut in the 1910s as a director with two films; further works were created in 1921 - the western material Lilian - and in 1925. He also wrote the screenplay several times . Between 1934 and 1936 he worked as an editor for Josep María Bosch . In 1937, together with Louis Frank , he shot the almost 50-minute Un pueblo en armas (international title Fury over Spain ), which was close to the anarchist ideas of the time and was made from documentary material .; As editor he had already worked on the thematically similar Aurora de esperanza the year before . Until the 1950s he also worked as an editor for feature films. In total he was responsible for the film editing of over 40 productions .
