Juan Tomás de Boxadors y Sureda de San Martín (born April 3, 1703 in Barcelona , Spain , † December 16, 1780 in Rome ) was a cardinal of the Roman Church .

Life

The de Boxadors, who is related to the Austrian ruling house, first served in the Austrian army and was a member of the Academy of Literature in Barcelona from 1729.

After entering the Dominican Order in 1734 , he became Provincial in 1746 and served as Minister General of his Order in Rome from 1756 to 1777. Pope Pius VI elevated the Spaniard to cardinal on November 13, 1775 and appointed him cardinal priest of the titular church of San Sisto on December 18, 1775 .
