Juan del Castillo (painter)
Juan del Castillo (* 1584 in Seville , † 1640 in Cádiz ) was a Spanish Baroque painter .
He was the youngest brother of Agustín del Castillos . Like him, Juan del Castillo also learned to paint from Luis Fernández and painted several frescoes and oil paintings, mainly for church buildings in and around Seville, but also in Granada and Cádiz. His students included his brother-in-law Alonso Cano and Bartolomé Esteban Murillo , Pedro de Moya , Andro de Medina , Juan de Valdés Leal and his nephew Antonio . His painting was based on the Venetian style.
