Juana Rosario Arrendel

Juana Rosario Arrendel (born September 26, 1978 in San Pedro de Macorís ) is a former high jumper from the Dominican Republic .

In 1996 she won bronze at the Ibero-American Championships and was eliminated from qualifying at the Olympic Games in Atlanta .

In 1998 she won the Central American and Caribbean Games and was eighth in the World Athletics Cup in Johannesburg .

At the Pan American Games in Winnipeg in 1999 , she took first place, but was disqualified for doping with stanozolol .

After the ban imposed on them, they failed at the 2001 World Athletics Championships in Edmonton in the preliminary round. In 2002 she won the Ibero-American Championships and defended her title at the Central American and Caribbean Games. In 2003 she won the Pan-American Games in Santo Domingo and was eighth at the World Cup in Paris / Saint-Denis .

At the 2004 Olympic Games , she did not get beyond qualification.

In 2005, a silver medal at the Central American and Caribbean Athletics Championships was followed by a preliminary round at the World Championships in Helsinki . The following year she won silver at the Ibero-American Championships and won the Central American and Caribbean Games for the third time. In 2007 she finished sixth at the Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro and was eliminated in the first round at the World Cup in Osaka .

In 2010 she ended her sporting career.
