Jud Fine

Jud Fine (born November 20, 1944 in Los Angeles , California , USA ; lives there) is a contemporary American object artist , draftsman and sculptor .

life and work

Jud Fine studied history at the University of California at Santa Barbara until 1966 and art at Cornell University in Ithaca , New York until 1970. Jud Fine is Graduate Program Director and Professor of Sculpture at the University of Southern California - School of Fine Arts.

Since 1970 he has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions, including exhibitions at the Margo Leavin Gallery and Ronald Feldman Fine Arts in New York City. His work is included in the collections of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago . He often works with Barbara McCarren - most recently for the group exhibition Drawing Review at the Ronald Feldman Fine Arts gallery.

His sculptures and objects are made from a wide variety of materials: He uses bamboo sticks, plastics, wood, metal, stones, rubber and wire for his installations.

Jud Fine participated in Documenta 5 in Kassel in 1972 in the Individual Mythologies : Processes department .
