Judas
Judas ( Ιουδας ) is the Greek form of the Hebrew male given name Jehuda ( יְהוּדָה). It was used in Greek texts for people from the Hebrew Bible , the Jewish history of late antiquity , the New Testament (NT) and the history of Christianity .

Naming law (Germany)
Unlike other biblical name, the name applies Judas (because of the negative drawn figure of Judas Iscariot) in the German name right oriented (as custom and case law) legal literature as an example of the child derogatory, illegal name that the child's best interests contrary . Registration as a first name can therefore be refused by German registry offices . In the English-speaking world, however, Jude is a common first name because of the widespread veneration of St. Jude Thaddäus .
