Judas ... ¡toma tus monedas! is a spaghetti western from a Spanish-Italian production that was shot in 1972 and has not yet been shown in the German-speaking area.

action

A band of bandits led by Luke Morton ambushes a carriage, steals a gold box destined for the army and takes a woman hostage. The Mexican crook and until then Morton's right hand, Carrancho, steals the box and hides it on the property of a Mormon church. Two gunslingers, Rayo and Texas, know that he will look for this gold again soon and save him repeatedly from the thirst for revenge of the ripped gang. Eventually all former members are eliminated and the three reach the hiding place. It is empty as the Mormons found the gold and want to return it to the owners. The two pistoleros, of whom Rayo is in cahoots with the allegedly abducted woman, not only succeed in snatching the booty, but also make the matter appear as if the Mexican alone was responsible.

criticism

"The unsuccessful attempt at a semi-serious Western fails because of the lack of ideas, the technical inadequacies and the forced humor," said Segnalazioni Cinematografiche .

Remarks

The title in the co-production country Italy (where “Texas” became “Sabata”) is Attento gringo… è tornato Sabata! . Giovanni Simonelli also took part in the directing, unnamed .

In Italy the film grossed a meager 98 million lire .
