Judi Brown

Judi Brown-King (actually: Judith Lynne Brown , after marriage Brown-King ; born July 14, 1961 in Milwaukee ) is a former American hurdler whose special course was the 400-meter distance .

At the Pan American Games, she won the gold medal in Caracas in 1983 and in Indianapolis in 1987 .

In 1984 she won the silver medal at the Olympic Games in Los Angeles behind the Moroccan Nawal El Moutawakel (gold) and in front of the Romanian Cristieana Cojocaru (bronze). At the World Athletics Championships in Rome in 1987 , she was eighth.

In 1987 she was named Athlete of the Year by Sports Illustrated magazine, along with a number of other athletes , after the group committed to a charitable initiative.
