Judith R. Fergin (* 1951 in Falmouth , Maine , United States ) is an American diplomat.

Career

Fergin received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Smith College and a Masters degree from the University of Virginia and the Industrial College of the Armed Forces at National Defense University in 1973 .

She has already worked in the field in Moscow , Monrovia ( Liberia ), Pretoria ( South Africa ) and Munich . In Moscow, a missile hit the office below Fergin's.

From 1997 to 2011 Fergin was a business advisor at the US Embassy in Jakarta . Here her husband and children had to leave the country prematurely when the Indonesian military rebelled. Fergin stayed at the embassy. From 2002 to 2003 she took part in the diplomatic exchange program at the Australian Strategic Policy Institute before returning to work as a business advisor at the US Embassy in Canberra . This was followed by the post of Deputy Head of Mission in Singapore from 2004 to 2007 and the post of Consul General in Sydney from July 2007 to June 2010 .
