Judy Tossell
Judy Tossell (* 1966 in Wiltshire , England ) is a British film producer .
life and career
Judy Tossell studied at Balliol College in Oxford , where she met her future production partner Jens Meurer in 1984 . In 1989 she moved to Germany and settled in Berlin , where she initially worked as a freelance journalist. She later started working for Regina Ziegler Filmproduktion, where she worked as an associate producer on several films.
In 1996 she founded her own production company Tossell Picture as a platform for young Berlin filmmakers. In 2001 the company merged with Jens Meurers Egoli Films to form Egoli Tossell Film . Since then, Tossell has produced not only local films, but also international films such as A Russian Summer , Carlos - The Jackal , Filthy Pig or Hector's Journey or The Search for Happiness .
After a foreign production partner left, Egoli Tossell Film had to file for bankruptcy in January 2011 due to liquidity problems. In June 2012 the company was restructured through an insolvency plan procedure.
Since 2016, the company has been run independently by the two founders, now trading as Egoli Tossell Pictures. Associated with Instant Film as a daughter. Current productions are Running Girl, Mandela's Children and Pier Pressure.
