Helen is terminally ill. Her biggest dream would be to play as a country singer at the legendary Bluebird Café in Nashville , Tennessee . Her husband is very worried about her. When suddenly the invitation flutters into the house, he tears up the letter. His employee Striker tapes the letter together and slips it to Helen at the hospital. The latter simply takes the guitar and rushes to the airport. Due to a mix-up, she takes the wrong gate and ends up in Jamaica . Here she is relieved of five dollars by the con artist Rosie on the bus. When she meets her later, she pursues them and a debate ensues. Rosie is now helping her to get to Montego Bay with a rental car. During a special stop it becomes clear that Rosie also works as a dealer. Gang members become aggressive and destroy Helen's beloved guitar.

Helen can stay with Rosie, her daughter and mother for a short time. She got the idea of ​​performing as a country singer in a luxury hotel. The performance with the local reggae band is tough. The hotel manager cancels the performance because Rosie wanted to deal in marijuana at the hotel. The women get into an argument, weakened and Helen collapses alone on the beach. She gets a visit from her husband at the hospital, he even got her tickets for Nashville, but Helen wants to stay here now. Rosie made an appearance on the beach. Together with the band they play a reggae version of the classic Country Roads .
