Nikki Amuka-Bird (born February 27, 1976 in Benin , Nigeria ) is a Nigerian- British actress .

Life

Born in Nigeria, Nikki Amuka-Bird came to Great Britain and Antigua with her mother when she was young . She learned acting at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art . She made her appearances as a stage actress at major theaters such as the National Theater or the Bristol Old Vic. At times she played with the Royal Shakespeare Company in plays such as The Storm or A Midsummer Night's Dream . Nikki Amuka-Bird made her film debut in 1999 in an episode role on the television series The Bill . She achieved greater fame in the remake of Das Omen from 2006. In German-speaking countries, she is known for her role as DS Erin Gray in the BBC crime series Luther broadcast on ZDF in 2012 .

Nikki Amukka-Bird has been married to fellow actor Geoffrey Streatfeild since 2003.
